Ganesha: A sign of good things to come...

  • Wisdom & Knowledge: Ganesha's elephant head symbolizes wisdom, & he is considered the patron of learning, writing, & the arts.
  • New Beginnings: Ganesha is included before any major undertaking, ensuring success & good fortune.
  • Remover of Obstacles: Ganesha is invoked to remove obstacles, both physical & spiritual, from one's path.
  • Patron of Arts & Sciences: Ganesha is also the god of arts, including music, dance, literature, & various creative endeavor.
  • Popularity: Ganesha is widely revered across different Hindu denominations & even among Jains & Buddhists, making him one of the most popular & beloved deities.

This hand-carved wood panel is hard to date, but it's very old! Featured is a seated Ganesha with 2 people praying on either side of his elephant figure. Very hard to say where this was made, but most likely somewhere in South India in the 19th century. A calm reminder of the good things to come!
